Default Purpose of this badge

Hi,
I am completely at a loss of what the badge shown actually represents. it is either WW1 or WW2. I thought at first that it was a 'patriotic' badge sold on fund raising days for the war effort. Then it occurred that it might have been a political party badge or perhaps an 'old comrades badge. Try as I may i can find no reference to its purpose and neither have I seen another example. Any clarification of its purpose would be appreciated.
Cheers
James

James I think this is 1st W.W. ( possibly for essential war work or as you thought ex servicemen) you see similar "For King and Country" on a lot of post WW1 badges, I have one and its a sporting event badge? All the best billy

Thanks Billy. I was leaning towards WW1 and your suggestions are very interesting. I appreciate that. Many thanks

I really do appreciate you taking the time to post the badge /medallion Billy. It is a very nice piece you have that you have. I think that the 'For King and Country' is being used in a patriotic sense in a number of ways and certainly moves me away from the idea a political use. Very interesting. Once again 'Many Thanks'
Cheers
James

A great badge, James!
Hope you find out it's "purpose"
Personally, I don't think it's sports or politically related as such. Maybe ex-servicemen? Or possibly a fund raising badge?

Cheers

Colin

Hi Colin,
Having seen the badge posted by Billy, I am tending towards ex-serviceman simply because it has the Kings Crown whereas fund raising badges and sporting badges do not seem to carry the Crown (??). I appreciate your input. It is a nice little badge and picked up for pennies. Was well pleased.
Cheers
James

I believe that they are 'Association of Conservative Clubs' Distinguished Service medals and have quite a long history.
I've seen a few on sale selling as badges connected to the Army Catering Corps.
