Ships divers were also employed to search the bottom of the vessel for any item attached to the hull i.e limpet mines. during war exercises at Portland they were used in this capacity.

I also employed the ships divers, and civilian divers working together, to undertake an underwater repair whilst in harbour in Iceland.

From 1952 until 1964 Clearance Divers had the addition of a C below the divers helmet. One star, two stars, Crown (PO and CPO) and crown above star below.
