Default WW1 1/6th East Surreys attributed Badges

Acquired this lot today all attributed to 241264 Pte James V Carrington 1/6th East Surrey Regiment. His Pagri Patch, his sand cast 6th Bn cap badge and smaller Mufti Badge, his Imperial Service Badge and identity discs. Sadly James died in India of fever in July 1919. He was awarded the British War and Victory Medals and the India General Service Medal 1908 Clasp Afghanistan 1919.

A very nice collection and interesting to see the Urdu newspaper used as a stiffener on the Pagri badge.

Is that badge sand-cast? It looks like a die-stamped badge to me judging by the rear detail?

Alex,

there are some flaws to the obverse that suggest locally made but i am not an expert on sand cast.

Superb collection. May I ask what colour the pagri patch is, looks dark green but cannot be positive.
