One I saw appeared to have an almost frosted look to the slider which made me suspect it was plated. Be very odd to have a slider made out of ‘German silver’. Off top of my head I can’t think of any badge that has? That’s not to say it’s not possible though.

Anyone got one they’d mind scratching?

... that’s just a joke please no-one do that.

I have seen horizontally maker marked examples https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ght=wandsworth but vertically marked examples-on rear of badge are new to me. Anyone seen a WM slider one with vertical makers mark? Regards, Paul.

Tony sold one recently (Which I missed )

Of course, it seems a shame that the information in this and the one by tony will be lost as they are both in the classified section.

Off the top of my head I have the following badges with WM sliders.
F.N Duke of Lancasters
F.N North Staffs
R Warwicks
3rd Carabiniers hair pin with usual hole.
ATS.
Will post images if anyone is interested, might be worth staring a new thread, as Andrew points out this thread will eventually be deleted.
Cheers Tony.

Any further info or pictures of badges with makers marks to reverse vertically top to bottom-on badge, not slider? Regards, Paul.

Not sure if it was the WM slider type you were specifically after but I got a marked one of these on a brass slider recently from Lew.

Cost me £14 all in. If you wanted it you can have it for that. Figure it’s too costly to start an FN collection on top of my recent penchant for Lambournes.

Yes please Tony.

I think this thread has been moved to the Infantry section so shouldn’t now be deleted.

Default WM slidered badges.

A selection of WM slidered cap badges, the one I have my doubts about is the RW not keen on its mince pie. RIF has sweat holes behind slider.
Hopefully of interest.
Tony.
