Yeah, that’s a super nice one!

Default Cloth finds

These badges probably were worn by the same man, all in great condition.

I was concentrating on medals in 2023 but was fortunate to be offered some beautiful Commando insignia.

Very very few Paras qualified for Gulf War 1 medal as none of the battalions deployed. Has he researched how he earned the medal and bar?

In that case it is not that rare as both 2 and 3 Para deployed. There were only a handful of Para regt who were in Saudi in 1991 including a couple on exchange with the US AB who made it to Desert Shield with the US whilst the rest of the Paras were chomping at the bit in Aldershot.

Some of my best finds are here. I just started to collect RFC/RAF medals to Irish and also badges this summer, so nothing particularly rare yet but still, a great start i believe!

RFC mess dress wings belonged to Captain Eric Horace COMBER-TAYLOR, who was KIA 16 June 1918.
RAF medal set with Irish awards was issued to Edward Houlihan originally from Limerick. I have now around 10 sets of RAF medals to Irish.

RFC collar and WO cap badge are both maker marked. Pilot - and observer wings are both WW1 era.

I did not think i would post anything on this annual topic this year as pickings have been slim, however on the 23d December on ebay i picked up two beauties at an almost ludicrous price. They arrived just now and i am over the moon with them. Royal West African Frontier Force in Anodised Aluminium with early Gaunt London Metal slider (£40) also West India Regiment Anodised Aluminium with Gaunt Slider (£20). Happy days !

Best wishes to all for your efforts in 2024 and may you find something to post next time this annual thread comes along.

Steve
