Irish Volunteers Button makers

Hi all,

I have seen these buttons identified as Irish Volunteers dating from 1916 through to the 1960s but have found little about the manufacturers. Mine is I think J & E M Co Ltd with a further round mark that I cannot make out clearly.

Any info on makers ?
