Mentioned in Despatches of the Korean War
Hello everyone,
I've just come into possession of two identical British Korean War ribbon groups with a Mentioned in Despatches leaf. Unfortunately, the seller did not know where they came from so, considering how generic the group is (no gallantry, service in Korea but nowhere else - presumably as a conscript) there is no hope of finding out whose they actually were. Nevertheless, I'd like to find out how many British soldiers were MID during the war to add that to the notes I have on it - I know that about 16,000 copies of the medal were issued, but I imagine that the version with leaf is likely to be considerably less. And in a shameless plug, the rest of my album on this often overlooked conflict can be found here: http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...p?albumid=1458 Best wishes! BP

Abbott and Tamplin's book quotes 496 for Korea for 1952. So for the whole conflict maybe 2 or 3 times as many??
