Question 'Recent Visitors' Window

I have noticed that in the 'Recent Visitors' window on my Public Profile page, the last ten visitors are listed alphabetically. However, though the number of visitors has risen (as recorded at the bottom of the window) the names have remained the same, even though I believe that those shown were not online at the time the visitor number increased.

Is there any way of increasing how many names are displayed in this window, or of seeing who these 'unnamed' visitors are? Perhaps they are guests to the forum who are not registered and therefore not named in the list?

With thanks,

Peter

where's that screen capture from then ??

there must be a script/cron which must purge part of the list now and again otherwise it could not be described as recent. I am under the assumption displayed ten are the last ten visitors, but maybe not.

I can change the number of names displayed - how many do you want?

unregistered/not logged in should not be able to visit those pages now as I had evidence of 'undesirables' poking around in there (and the members list) so I changed a few settings to try and keep them out.

Just been thinking - if someone visits in stealth/hidden mode, the counter might increment, but the name will not show. that's the explanation, I'm sure of it.

Hello Mike,

The screen capture is from my page, but I manipulated it a little before posting it.

Showing the last ten visitors is absolutley fine; I was just interested to know if it was within members' control to alter it if desired.

The main reason for my query was that the visitor number was increasing, but the names never changed, even though I believe the people shown on that list were offline at the time of the increase.

No big deal, just curious, so thanks for the explanation.

Peter

I made them up as examples, rather than posting actual members' names within the thread - they are not real members... yet!

Now if you were told that it would not be 'stealth'.

In your control panel you can turn on 'invisible mode' - it's in 'Edit options' in the left hand menu. Once you do that you can surf around the forum without any indication to others that you are here - currently active users list will not show you & little green light next to your name will not be 'on' etc.

I am not sure why anyone would want to visit another members profile with stealth enabled?
