The same requirement existed for lanyard approval during the Second World War, i.e., send a sample to HQ. The 1947/1950 regs don't make any mention of previous approvals so I wonder if those that were approved in the SWW were 'grandfathered"?

Hi Clive, Going through the LAC documents, I have noticed that the same appears to be true for many shoulder titles. A slew of titles had to be submitted for approval starting circa 1947. It appears that the approvals from overseas may not have made it to the files in Canada.
