Rajput Officer or NCO,1940.
A photograph of a Rajput officer, taken ,according to Life Magazine, in a camp near the Great Pyramids in 1940. It's a pity that the photographer did not think of us in not taking a better shot of the cap badge.

It looks like the horn or bugle I forget what number Rajput wore that ,the 4th perhaps? Some of the British members can tell us, In that picture he wasn't dressed for action Jo. But I hear they made some great soldiers though.

I am under the impression that they wore the light infantry horn with the letters "RR". Like the enclosed pic but without the Katars (dagger-like things).

That is indeed a photo 6th Rajputana Rifles. The cap badge (or in this case Pagri) is almost exactly like that of the Durham Light Infy., but with the letters RR in the center and the badge is blackened in the manner of Rifle regiments. He is probably a VCO or Viceroys commissioned officer.
