Default Order of Precedence 1918

Hi All,

I am designing the order in which I display my collection which is of OR cap badges of regular units at 11 Nov 1918. I have 16 or so left to collect which will cost about £350-400.

Can anyone tell me a useful source for Orders of Precedence? The only one I can find is at the old regiments.org site which can be viewed with the internet archive at http://web.archive.org/web/200701061...sts/ba1918.htm

I wondered whether Army Lists might help but I couldn't find anything other than alphabetic lists in the table of contents in the ones I saw.

I'm fine with the cavalry, infantry, RA and RE: my only difficulties are with the Services, Departments and Corps and War Raised Units and whether certain overseas forces (eg BWI Regt, W India Regt, Newfoundland Regt, West African Regt &c) are technically part of the British Army establishment.

The regiments.org list does have a few errors in it (eg the Corps of Military Accountants wasn't formed until the next year) so some corroboration would be nice.

Thanks!

Tom
