Lancashire Fusiliers Enlistment/Rgt History pamphlet
From the estate of Lt. Col John Hodgkinson MC TD who served in the KOYLI
a HMSO published potted history of the Lancashire Fusiliers dated 1911, possibly given to recruits on enlistment? Anyway a really nice little pamphlet in great condition. Alli |

A nice thing to have. That is the type of thing in my opinion that enhances and adds 'colour' and background to a badge collection I like it also because of my interest in the WW1 era.Thank you for posting.

Okay, going to make a plonker of myself here (nothing new there then), but why does it say, 'Badge - Red Rose'?... image.jpg |

I assume that it has reference to the red rose because it is a 'Minden Regiment' .... The members of the so called Minden Regiments picked a rose as they advanced to battle on passing through the gardens at Minden in 1759...the Lancashire adopted the red riose.

It's fairly rare, it's previous owner parted with it reluctantly. But it's ok I've untied him now |

I am sure the LF Minden Rose was yellow (facing colour) now they are RRF they use both Yellow and Red. The red rose must be a ref to Lancashire ( red rose county) the rose has been used on their RVC and Militia insignia

The Lancs Fus Colours have the Lancashire rose so that makes more sense as you say Paul.
