A&SH sporran badge?
Would the attached be an Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders sporran badge?
It is not very large (1 1/16" x 7/8") and I believe is of silver. Unfortunately it appears to have been heavily polished inasmuch as a large proportion of detail has been removed - sort of akin to the polishing smooth of the central RAF cypher in older brass badges. It had 2 copper loops at rear but only the top one remains. If it is a sporran badge, would anyone be kind enough to show method of attachment? Would also appreciate a time-frame and who would have worn. Unfortunately, the scan does not do the badge justice as there is a lot of glare. The fine silver engraving appears dark, almost black, in the original. Thanks GTB
