Default missing collars?

I have a few ideas but can anyone tell with certainty from the shape what the missing collars would be?

It is an 1881 pattern infantry officers Scarlet frock for a non royal regiment.

I realise this is perhaps a foolish ask, but thanks anyway.

The ghost looks similar to the old Green Howards bi-metal cap badge but I don't know if the same design was used for officers collar badges.

No idea, what collar badges were there to choose from in 1981?

Quite a few, most regiments in existence then had them, according to Churchill's tome on the subject. I have a few it might be but my copy is a later edition and the images are not so good.

Leigh, I'll look into this.

I was thinking Northhants, or the old 69th among a few that had this sort of shape with a bump, I assume for a crown, on top.

Sadly It has had a very hard life if it dates from 1981.

If I'm imagining a crown at the top of the ghost then I'm thinking just the rose and wreath of the Hampshire's.
