You have to laugh.
You have to laugh at the imagination of the seller to sell their fake or fantasy items. We have a genuine last shako badge 1869-78, what can you say, other than the mind boggles. A genuine Boer war glengarry badge, which is a fake, not Boer war and not a glengarry badge. The genuine badge was worn between 1930 and 1948 as a drummer’s cross belt badge and a bandsman’s pouch badge. The WW2 officers’ badge is of course totally fake, but the description is a laugh, mentioning three of the battles the regiment took part in and saying imagine the stories this badge could tell. Not a Cheshire regiment officers side cap, but stick a Cheshire badge on and you are good to go. A real one is black with a buff centre or all the officers I knew were wearing the wrong one.

I saw that Cheshire thing in with a Somerset and Cornwall LI collar badge shako badge lol. There was a couple of others in the lot too. Im sure this was brought up a short time ago.
The SCLI probaly had the least imaginative set of badges you could wish for. I do love them though. |
