RASC George 6th AA badge
Hi, Could someone please shed some light on this badge for me, I've heard that there was only a few of these badges produced and the RASC didn't like them because they were to brittle, the slider broke off to easy, any info would be appreciated, Thanks Ken

Hi Chris, I've seen your badge, can I ask you where you got your picture of the badge from, the reason I ask is that that is very similar to my badge that is in my frame, see my picture in my album, thanks Ken

Has anyone got an image of the early (1947 Pattern) RAOC anodised badge?
Like the RASC above, its an early trails example. I have a 1949 Pattern anodised badge with 'shepard's crock' unmarked slider as I do not think any were marked either. Sorry for the poor image. Last edited by Mike_2817; 17-09-15 at 09:10 PM. |

Same as mine Mike. Im not aware that they have marked sliders.
Corps wise the KC Pioneer and Intelligence corps badges should both be marked. with regard to the older RAOC badge, ive never seen one either image or actual badge.Ive heard rumours regard to people having seen it etc but never an absolute proof of its existance.. |

It is of course entirely possible that the RAOC badge was included in the early production of anodised badges as it was RAOC SNCO's & Officers who were involved in the purchasing of Army equipment. I also have a 1918 Pattern RAOC Anodised Button with Corps Title produced circa 1947. A certain Yorkshire dealer says he had one around 2005 and sold it on for £200 but strangely did not take a photo of it! nor will he say who he sold it to.. |
