Default Opinions sought on East Riding Yeomanry cap badge

Gentlemen if I could draw on your knowledge please.

I recently displayed the first pictured ERY badge with long slider in my 27AB badges thread. Alas this ERY badge as kindly pointed out by CB is a fake - non-voided front legs, no sweat-holes to the rear, very right-angled slider and covered in remains of black paint it would seem - doubtless to hide it's sins!

To avoid replacing it with another dud, please could I get opinions of the next ERY badge pictured?

The voided front legs, sweat-holes and general wear all look much better to me. Plus I particular like the clipped slider as possibly an indication of wear on a beret, which is obviously very much the period of badge I am seeking.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers......John

The new one is an old good imo. I wold not be too quick to jettison the other one as the regiment did buy their own to replace the a/a badges so would be ok in a modern cap bagde collection.

I would be very happy with the badge on the shortened slider.
