Thanks Mike

by the look of it yours is the earlier die ...by the mark as well. There should be an Officers marked B'HAM as on the main body of the AA (probably not HMd)?

Hi Mike

Its the back image that's different..... I will highlight the areas. There should be an Officers silver out there ..... that will have the Brummy Gaunt mark..... possibly HMd (as seen on the AA on the Gauntlet).

Griff,
I'm not sure I've ever seen a Gaunt B'HAM mark on a silver or SP badge? HM yes but not a B'HAM mark? I'm also puzzled as to who would have worn this very nice example as a cap badge?

Andy

If you look "behind" the B'HAM marked slider..... you will see the MM on the body of the Gauntlet. So, there should be an Officers badge with that same back image?

Andy

The only candidate would be CCF officers from units attached to the RAC. I know of at least one wearing RAC badges from 1960s-1990s.

Griff,
not sure how you come to that conclusion?

Post WW2 and certainly post 1966 the RAC badge would have been worn as a Cap badge by Boy Soldiers, JLR RAC, they had no "Badged" officers!
