Royal Naval Hospital Cap Tallies
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if cap tallies were worn for the following naval hospitals, and if so what was on them? May seem a bit obvious but for example RNH Stonehouse had an RNH Plymouth tally but RNH Haslar had a RNH haslar tally! so I'm not sure at all what would be on any tallies worn? RNH Gillingham RNH Greenwich RNH Hong Kong RNH Portland RNH Mauritius RNH Bermuda RNH Trincomalee And as the hospital in Gibraltar is still part open, do they still wear the RNH Gibraltar tally? Also anyone know what tally is worn at Dartmouth? HMS Britannia, HMS Dartmouth, BRNC Britannia, BRNC Dartmouth?? Regards Tony |

Just a guess but Hong Kong was known as RNH Mount Kellet. Situated at the Peak on HK Island. I served there when it was Army BMH Mount Kellet. Sadly demolished for Millionaires mansions.

Hi Tony, I was attached to HMS Dartmouth in 1963 and the junior ratings wore tally HMS DARTMOUTH. They were the ships company - not officer cadets. My guess is they still wear the same tally. Cheers
