I think these may have been cold welded (what???) using General Electrics procedure with Gaunt to join slider to body but this did not work too well and was soon superseded by other methods. Can you send image - I have been told that some one piece items were issued out but don't really know if they were a large batch of experimental items or post experiment. Regards Chris

I'm not looking for one, I have a spare "Firmin London" for sale, but I think £5 is well off the mark! I'd rather keep hold! I've attached some one-piece images for reference, the ALL gold rear is unusual! Andy

Can you look under the slider where it attaches to the badge body - there should be a small supporting 'strut' attached to the badge body running from the bend of the slider to the bottom of the badge but is only about 3mm long. Mine does have the support strut mentioned, no makers mark but does show signs of having been worn. I'll post pics this evening. Regards Ry

This one part badge of mine seems to have had a hard life with cracked anodic crust and plenty of scratches and scuffs. Point - can you check the reverse side of you slider to see if it is marked there. It may have been punched with a makers mark, bent the wrong way and then added to the badge body so hiding the mark from obvious view. This does happen and proves that sliders were added before anodising and colour dying. Regards Chris
