Default R. DUBLIN FUS. LUGGED C/B

I just obtained this early Royal Dublin Fusiliers cap badge. 3 lugs and 3 oblong brazing holes on reverse - two behind grenade and one behind scroll.
Looks like it's been dug up from somewhere. can't decide whether to try and clean it or not, I usually prefer not to.
I think it's probably ok but would appreciate any opinions/comments regarding authenticity.

David

David,

Looks good to me! That looks like verdigris on the badge, should come off with some gentle cleaning.

Regards,

Dave
