Default Unknown British Commando/Royal Navy badge

I wonder whether I can use the expertise of people on this forum to help identify a badge that has been put forward on the Commando Veterans Association website? See http://www.commandoveterans.org/cdoF...list/2902.page for the thread discussing things and the image of the badge in question.

With thanks in anticipation.
Rob

From Flight, July 21, 1921 page 496:

The Instone Air Line are progressing steadily in the direction of regular shipping ideals. They have now supplied their personnel with gold-wire badges of the Instone House Flag, flanked with laurel leaves and surmounted with a goldwire " Vimy." This is, it is rumoured, the first step towards equipping their staff with uniforms. They are, apparently, breaking them into the idea gently.

The initials are: S. I. & Co
The houseflag badges have been used by the Instone shipping company as well.

Many thanks for this, and apologies for not acknowledging this more quickly - I thought I had email "notifications" turned on, but evidently not - or my spam filter is more effective than I thought!

An intriguing response, and certainly down a line that I wasn't expecting! Thanks again.
