Geoffrey Plantagenet's badge was 6 lions rampant on a shield.
Which is probably not a lot to do with this badge. |

Geoffrey Plantagenet, Count of Anjou
Six gold Rampant Lions on an Azure (blue) field..... the "hatching" lines denote the colour. The shield shape is known as a "College of Arms" shape. Probably a souvenir box?

The Warrington shield has an Ermine (Fur) field...... the police collar badge shows a blue (Azure) field on the hatching. So technically ..... the Police collar badge actually shows the Plantagenet shield and not the Warrington shield.

Thank you for that. Its rather strange that they used the same shield on their insignia from their formation in 1847 through to their demise in 1969, as indeed did other Corporation departments.
