Michael,
that's quite a museum you have there! VERY NICE!!!

I made this display cabinet a few years back, the aim was to keep my badges tidy, however the frustrating thing about collecting, is that as soon as you mount, frame or place items onto cards along comes something that should be added or replaced!! I started off quite tidy, but now the drawers are "Chocablock" I need to make another I think!

I agree Dave but it is a bit scruffy for a Guardsman...!!!! I'd have expected them to be tallest on the right shortest on the left, polished and numbered; wouldn't you?!!!

Talking

So can I and I've had a chuckle about it but I think I have guessed the reason why. Lets face it the Welsh Guards are quite a 'young' regiment and wouldn't be first in his collection. He'd have to start with the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) and the HAC. OH! Weren't both of those territorials... The HAC was formed because guns were too technical for soldiers. And the guards Dave, can they be trusted..The Coldstreamers fought against the King and the Irish for the French...
I believe that it is hung for a sheep as for a lamb on this one!!!

Ah, that's where you may fall down !!

If guns are too technical for soldiers, how come he's a Gunnery Instrucor ??

Hi Everybody,

Yes, I agree, a lovely lot of badges and militaria there. Thanks for sharing your treasures.

I keep most of mine in a cabinet as shown. In most drawers are 4 sheets of mounted badges with a thin cardboard layer in between to prevent scratching. I use a small wire hook to lift the sheets out of a drawer. The bottom two drawers are deeper so I can store small boxes etc.

My next step is to make a wooden frame so that one sheet of badges at a time could be displayed on the wall.

Cheers,

Tinto
