Default Badge Identity please

Wondering if anyone can have a look at this image and determine the badge. All I know is that the soldier was a Dispatch Rider.

I wondered about Intelligence Corps, but am not sure.

Thanks for your help.

Although I can not id this badge, I would shy away from Canadian Intelligence corps. There seems to be a voided area at where the scroll is. My CIC badge example is not voided in this area.

Of note, he is wearing the cold weather toque, and note his ribbon bar.

Yes, noted both those items. Am trying to help his dtr work up a display for her children for Christmas. There is a vacuum of information available, and dear old dad "never said much" is all there is to fill the void.

Your point about the voiding made my initial thought of the Lincs & Winks hold a little strength, but the badge isn't wide enough for it.

Any thoughts to Engineers, perhaps, but the scrolling doesn't look right.

cheers.

Just came up with a bit more information. Anyone with the block number book for WW2, see what B56122 shows for a unit. This may give us a clue.

That number is/was for No.2 District Depot RCASC. It just means that your man enlisted in the RCASC BUT, could have been transferred to any other unit later on during his service.

Thanks Jo.
I was kind of hoping for something I guessed wouldn't be there.

Kind of like Dad enlisting in the Engineers and ending up a Provost.

Oh well, another idea may emerge.

Thanks again.

Phil

just a thought as he has a "B" and obviously been overseas (ribbons), how about the Lake Superior Regt., it would go with the scroll at the bottom and rithe right shape although I can not make out if it has the beaver on top????
