Yes, i have both types but they do not fit to the original holes.
All the collar dogs i have seen have pretty much the same the lug spacing, do you know if there were any other styles in use ? |

Collar badges were not normally worn on BD (with exceptions of course, particularly cavalry). Also, officers collar badges for the R. Warwickshire were roughly the same size as the OR's, so it may be that something else was worn on the collars?

R. Warwicks collar dogs
Another possibility is that this man was commissioned into another regiment before ending up in the R. Warwicks- he kept the BD and changed the insignia.
Whatever was fitted was probably unauthorised as collar badges were not permitted on BD until the very end of the 1940's. Stephen. |

Warwicks Collars Badges
Spencer,
the collar with the Antelope with the lift paw dates from around 1892 - 1896. They where worn in facing pairs contary to what Churchill say's in his book. The question about the 1940 pattern battle dress blouse collar badge, there is a WW2 bronzed collar badge the same pattern as the OR's white metal badge. This is also in facing pairs. Hope this helps Phil |
