Royal Artillery - Pouch Badge - 1840
Probably the cheapest badge you can buy from this period. According to W. Y. Carman who wrote the Osprey Men at Arms series for the Royal Artillery this style of badge was first introduced in 1840.
I believe this to be the pouch badge. Value is no more than five pounds.

Thanks mate, appreciate the look up. Ive seen these described as RA and Engineers. I think this one is brass. I`m assuming its a pouch badge because of the three lugs.
In the Osprey book it shows the officers gilt belt buckle with this cypher.

No mention of any RA pouches with that badge on, unless I missed a Volunteer or Militia one. The design was used on the waist belt clasp in two sizes worn by both Officers, Warrant Officers and Staff Sergeants.
