Looking at the photographs Quicksilver has posted I think they were taken at the old Burniston Barracks in Scarborough, where 40 Sig Regt(V) held a number of their camps.

I believe I recognise a couple of the officers in the pictures and, if this is the case, will see if they can add to this debate.

Dear Pretani

If you do manage to speak to any one, I would be most grateful for some dates.

When did they stop (If they have) being a pipe band for the Regiment. I have purchased a Tara Brooch so I will be putting this on my little web site in the future.

Any info you find I would be most grateful for. If you wish my home email address is ormer@vraic.freeserve.co.uk should you wish to get in touch with me direct.

Many thanks

Chris

Default 40th (U) Signal Regiment Volunteers

Dear All.

To all the Forum members who were kind enough to make the above Thread so succeddful when it first appeared in January 2010.

I should just like to say a very big thank you for all the information that I received regarding Tartans, Badges, Pipe Band etc.

I now have pleasure in advising any member who helped with this Thread and those who havew looked at it that I have now put the information gathered on my little web site in words and pictures.

Please feel free to take a look www.signalsbadges.co.uk and go to the UK section. The Tara badge is at the bottom. Just click on the badge and it will give you the information,

Once again, very many thanks for your help. I hope the little entry will help keep the name of 40th (Ulster)Signal Regiment (V) alive

Kind regards

Chris Walker

John A. Taylor was Pipe Major of the 40th (Ulster) Signal Regiment from 1995 to 1999. He wasprobably their only Pipe Major.
