I only remember Union flag and 16 Bde insignia.
Could be the 16 Bde insignia replaced the SFOR badge shortly before departure from Bosnia. I'll have a check through photos I have but I think I have only a couple of R Scots RGR Company personnel and those taken at a Gurkha curry night at the Metal Factory, so they're a bit out of focus.

Cool! If you have any where they are wearing rank slides for the Officers/NCOs, are they the RGR rank slides or are they just those standard unlabeled ones? Thanks.

Also, was the 16 Bde insignia the striking eagle patch or Pegasus?

Well I've finished making them, ended up doing two uniforms. Both are of the Royal Scots (Royal Gurkha Rifles reinforcement company) that was deployed in Bosnia.
First one is the 1996 - 1999 uniform, when they were part of 24th Airmobile Brigade.
In 1999, 24th Bde and 5th Bde were combined to form 16th Air Assault Brigade. Second uniform shows this. The Gurkha reinforcement coy made part of this new brigade, and probably would've worn this insignia up until 2001, when they were transferred to reinforce The Highlanders.

Cheers the the help all, it's been very useful.

(Note, the pictures have send in the wrong order, and one hasn't even sent at all. Also, enjoy the little bag holding up the beret

If R Scots were in the metal factory it must have been 1996 and they would have taken over from the LI.

There was also a Gurkha Brigade Security Company with 4 Armd Bde in Sipavo post the Dayton Agreement in 1995.

I can't remember which Bn or what insignia they wore. All others who went out with the Bde wore 4 Bde flash, UN flashes were removed prior to the move across the confrontation line.

[QUOTE=Alan O;467984]Black ones. For the summer jungle ones were issued.

For winter tours it was black Danner books from the US.[/QUOTE

Are you sure they were Danner boots, Alan?

At a time post 1995, I can just about recall the ‘new’ DMS Pro-Boot being issued for the winter kit, and then definitely in 1998 I was issued with a pair of the US made Matterhorn boots - I didn’t like those boots at first, they felt too ‘flat.’

Best,

Marcus

It's a long time ago so you may be right about the maker. There was a complete mixture worn and issued: the issued pro-boots that started being issued in 1995-6, black jungle boots, the older green jungle boots, the US matterhorns and even POL resistent matterhorns with green soles!

That would be B (Gurkha) Company Royal Scots, we had a contingent of them with us at Lipa in 1998/1999, where for most of the December and January they did our guard duty throughout this period.

The only distinct recollection I have (aside from drunk antics) was the mix-match of rifle green and maroon berets within ‘B Coy’, but badges, etc, not at all; far, far too long ago now.

Best,

Marcus

Thanks for the new responses everyone. I just found this picture on Google images which looks like the Royal Scots B Company. It shows that they are all wearing RS Tartan Patches on their right shoulder. Would anyone be able to confirm this to be the same company that went to Bosnia in 1997 and 1998/9? Thanks.
