Capt A H Laing Scottish Rifles
Capt Laing served in the 1914-18 war and was wounded six times during battle, he was a larger than Life fellow and by all accounts very popular with his comrades. He served in the Scottish Riffles , his son also Joined the army and served with the Gurka s as a Ranking Officer . Captain Laing was also a Mason he Died in 1943 in Morecombe but was of scottish descent and proud of his roots , his wife Claire was a Nurse .
