INTERESTING HAT BADGE ON BUSH HAT
Here is a picture of a Royal Engineers captain, during WW2 period, perhaps in the middle east or far east. Can any forum member please tell me/us the significance of the badge on the front of the bush hat.

It looks if only the top part of the badge can be seen and there is more hidden by the brim

Interesting
I think that the cloth patch on the upturned left brim is a blue/red RE pagri-flash. The front badge looks like a Major's crown. It may have something beneath it but I cannot think of any British insignia that would have a large KC on it.

Bush hat
An interesting picture, the only badge that I can think of offhand with a crown that size would be an RAF W/O's, the pagri flash could be RAF, although RE looks more likely.

Possibly he was bumped temp Maj. and couldn't get any shoulder tabs made up???
