British/Canadian patches worn,1945
This photograph has come up on the auction site. It shows a Canadian wearing the HK patch given at war's end but, with the title of the HKVDC (Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps). Can a Brit colleague try to explain?

Perhaps he was a Hong Kong Veteran who later served in the HKVDC?
He has the CVSM, looks to be over 30 and appears too well fed to have been a recently released guest of the Japanese. Phil |
