Was there such a thing as this?
Greetings all. I found this badge and recall seeing another a while ago. Was there such a thing as a Jewish Brigade or is this seller misinformed.... as I suspect?

Just as I thought. I wrote to him last time and asked him to qualify his claim and he went on about it having belonged to an elderly Jewish man who blah blah blah. You get my drift?

Me too. Apparently the Royal Navy served ashore with the Jewish Brigade Group. And in any case I don't know my ar** from my elbow and should keep my mouth shut ...... etc etc
In point of fact the JBG's arty was 200 (Palestine) Field Regt RA - one battery was manned by Palestine Jews and Commanded by Maj Edmund de Rothschild. They wore standard RA badges. Eddie

Here is the Jewish Brigade Group Orbat 1st Jewish Bn, Palestine Regt 2nd Jewish Bn, Palestine Regt 3rd Jewish Bn, Palestine Regt 200 Field Regiment RA – 604 (Palestinian) Bty commanded by Edmund de Rothschild, remainder British 643 (Palestinian) Field Coy RE Brigade Sigs Sqn RSigs - British 178 (Palestinian) Supply Coy RASC Ordnance Field Park and Workshop RAOC 140 Field Ambulance RAMC – British possibly some Palestinian members
