an axample of this one seems to be absent from the MM section. More than Happy for this image to be added.

I don't collect Canadian badges but might just sneak it into my Grenadier Album as it's a very nice little badge and with a wee clean should be stunning?

Hi Andy,

Nice badge - CEF/WW1 period. Mobilized in Toronto in 1915 and sailed to England August 9th, 1916. Served as a pioneer batallion. Could be an officer's badge if that is a gilt coating?

we do have a page on Canadian marks hidden away but my intention is to transfer them all onto the main makers marks page. Would have liked to have got some info on the makers to add a bit of text to the pages 'cause google doesn't like pages with no text.

Yep definitely, it's off the highspots. [is this cleaning process an excuse for eating large quantities of pickled onions?]

Hi Andy, looks like a nice badge. It comes in several variations, check out my album for a officers badge in silver and gilt to the same regiment.

Hi Andy,

Cleaned version looks good. The bible of CEF badges (Charlton) lists two officer's versions - one like in Greg's album and one in gilt only. The pin fitting was common on officer's badges but also found on OR's. Also, some OR's badges were covered with a dull gold coating which wore off easily. Yours does look like gilt but hard to be sure from the pic? If it is a fairly dull gold coating it may be an OR's version. Still a nice badge!

Yes,
but they are superficial and the integrity and strength seems to be intact! May have happend when lugs removed and brooch fitted?
