Default Ebay Gem No1 - Guards Trained Soldier Arm Badge

I know many members are not fond of Ebay and regard the badges sold on it as trash.. I am far from that opinion and here a few Gems picked up in just the past few days.....

The first is a Guards Trained Soldiers arm badge, worn by Guardsman/Privates serving as permanent staff at the Guards Depot. Tria Juncta in Uno would suggest pre 1900, when the Irish Guards became the Fourth Regiment of Foot Guards, although I suspect this badge was worn long afterwards. I have only seen cloth "Quinque" badges. It's value £100-150, obtained for just over £2.

Hi folks,

I received these from ebay yesterday, a little more than £2.00p but in my opinion, well worth the sum I paid and because I like bright and shiny........I think it's a nice little set ??

Perhaps not the historical or financial value as Andy's badge but just as rewarding me thinks !

Dave.

How come I never see these on eBay? Is there a special section for experts?

If there is a glut of restrikes, nobody has told the bloke who wants £85.00 to 'buy it now'
