Default Tropical Flight Lt slide WWII-post WWII?

Hi Team

Could I have your thoughts on this slide.

The rank braid is cotton and does not glow.

Also the braid style is that WWII or post WWII?

This might sound a stuppid question but I have to be educated. Why did the RAF have smaller slides , why not longer length?

cheers

Phill

Hi Phill,
The rank looks ww2 to me but could welll have been used post war.
The RNZAF was present in Fiji post war and wore the same tropical uniform and badges during the 1950s.
The rank slide is shorter simply because it didn't need to cover the full length of the should strap.
