On another forum a member bought a trunk containing the uniform and badges of an Officer in the RA. One of these badges is pictured here and I would like to know its correct identity and should it have the ribbon bar shown and if so what does it signify, thanks, John

5 (GIBRALTAR 1779-1783) FIELD BATTERY ROYAL ARTILLERY

Ribbon of the French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918. Green with seven red stripes.

Awarded to the Battery for distinguished services on the 27th of May 1918, near Pontavert on the River Aisne, during the First World War 1914-1918. Cited in the French Fifth Army Orders.

May I have it now?

Marc
