Default Fakes.. but I like them.

All I suspect are copies but they do make a nice display. A friend who is an avid long time collector told me that for the same money I could have had a display of 4, possibly 5 originals. Meh.

Pretty though I'd rather have 4 or 5 originals. I'm thinking (well, not a new thought) of putting up a frame of any fake, repro, Birmingham Mint etc badges I have in the hallway, just as ornamentation. I'm halfway through doing a small frame of anod als which have no fittings.
The dagger top left - is it army pioneers?

And if those dagger straps are real then hanging them like that will do them no good at all ....they are called hangers in name only ...!

No.. it's a WWII German Railway officials dress dagger, Underneath is a WWII German TENO officer's dagger and the other 2 top to bottom are Red Cross Officer's and a Labour force officer's.

Ah, wondered - I knew the black hilt was used by another organisation but couldn't remember which.

I now have 68 of them, mostly the pre 1960 style with the bullion wire emblems and all different lodges.

They've hung on various walls since the mid 60's and seem to have suffered no damage so far.

I have only the one set of dagger hangers, I wouldn't trust them to support the rather tatty army dagger they're fitted to (I could do with a similarly worn condition pair for a LW dagger and mint condition hangers for two mint condition LWs)
I'd be inclined to support the weight of the dagger on tacks through the scabbard suspension rings rather than risk damage to the hangers.
My daggers and bayonets live tucked out of the way in drawers though.

Me too, I think that applies to any antique, you need it to be original.
