Default Sheffield University OTC Officers Bullion Beret Badge

Can anyone please confirm that the badge pictured is a Sheffield University officer's bullion beret badge please. It is defintely related to Sheffield University and is the same size as the standard brass and/or anodised cap badge. The only difference is that the lower scroll bears the University motto rather than the title "Sheffield University OTC".
It will be offered for sale once identified.

Thanks in advance

PL

All of the commissioned officers that I have known in an OTC have continued to wear their parent regiment cap badges.

Bullion and cloth cap badges have appeared for cadets in recent years but not for Sheffield to my knowledge and I would be surprised at the lack of an OTC title.

You would be very speculative to sell it as OTC without confirmation from the unit itself.

I actually served with Sheffield UOTC in the early 1990s. The post MTQ 2 officer cadets within the Development Wing of SUOTC normally included several who Commissioned in their fourth year of service. As they had no parent unit (never having served with either a Regular or Reserve unit) they DID wear a bullion version of the SUOTC cap badge prior to leaving university and (in some cases) continuing their service with a local Army Reserve unit. The thing that I don't know is whether the bullion badge bore the University motto or the SUOTC title.

see my response to Alan (I was at SUOTC at the same time as Ian Kelly). I know that he introduced the "Howling Wolf" arm badge for D (Development) Company during his time there....

Glad my memory has not failed that much. He came around my house many years ago when I lived in Burton on trent and we did some badge trading 😊
