Hi
Recently got this, now I know the 5th weren't the East Surreys so does this relate to the 5th Battalion? When does it date from? Cheers Sean |

I'm assuming its First World War, the 5th went to India and then Mesopotamia so would have been issued with solar topees hence the need for a pagri flash, but not my area of knowledge so just guessing.

Many thanks for that Peter, interesting that is shows that only 1/5th was was anywhere where a pagri badge would have been worn the other duplicate battalions remained at home.
