Hi All,
Was there ever a blackened version of hat badge KK641 worn?
Thanks, John

Not made that way to my knowledge as none of the DCLI had rifles heritage shown by blackened DCLI badges

Black painted badges of various regiments turn up every now and then, simply locally blackened for tactical purposes?

Thank you all for your comments.
The reason for my query is this slidered badge shown.
Apologies for poor quality, it's not mine. Possibly it is a trick of light that makes it look black.

Or to fill gaps (or perceived gaps) in a collection.

Do you have a picture of the back?

That picture of the front is useless for authentication I’m afraid.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of rear of badge. Here is picture of slider only which seems blackened as well.

Here is a better picture of the badge, obtained for a few dollars.
Looks well made but may be an example of a Bulgarian fake, have there been any others like this?
Comments welcome.
Thanks, John
