I once had an all white metal Kings Liverpool Regt. beret size cap badge , it was certainly by Marples and Beasley but can’t remember if Birmingham was included on the slider.

As I couldn’t image who would have worn the badge I did contact Marples and Beasley ( it was a long long time ago) and I got to talk to a very helpful lady who said she would make some enquiries and get back to.

True to her word she did and said that she had been told the badge was incomplete and lacked the brass title overlay.

Make if that what you will

Peter, our mutual friend said that that badge (1950 Pattern) in 'all WM' was a "walking out" badge. I've never seen one by M and B - one to look out for...

thanks

Just to bring this thread to the surface in view of recents posts regarding slider markings.

See post 27 for the list so far, there are no doubt more out there!

A new one to me, the North Devon Hussars in GM with a Marples & Beasley slider.

The badge is a cast copy of a genuine Lambourne badge, the impressed name stamp is partly visible on the reverse but mostly lost in the casting process.

I expect this one may easily catch out the keen but unwary.
