Unknown Bayonet Markings
Can anyone decipher this pommel marking on a Pattern 1888 Mk.II Bayonet please. Bayonet manufactured June 1900 but markings are possibly later, WW1 period. The markings below are correct and just as they appear.
2.LD. T.S.C. regards

The T.S.C. may be the initials of a Junior Division O.T.C. that the bayonet was re-issued to: T.S. College? Tonbridge School Cadets?
T.S.C. is not mentioned amongst the bayonet markings section of Howard Williamson's, The Collector and Researchers guide to the Great War. Vol II. Small Arms, Munitions, Militaria. Last edited by High Wood; 03-06-21 at 12:52 PM. |

Looking through my copy of the Territorial Yearbook 1909 I see under the Army Service Corps, the following London Territorial ASC units listed.
1st London Div (HQ) Co. 1st London Brigade Co. 2nd London Brigade Co. 3rd London Brigade Co. 2nd London Div (HQ) Co 4th London Brigade Co. 5th London Brigade Co. 6th London Brigade Co. and then one that fits the bill:- London Mounted Brigade. T & S.Col. I assume that to be the Transport and Supply Column. So I am satisfied that its an ASC marking to a London Territorial Transport and Supply Column. thanks for all the help. regards
