Help with identification please.
Good afternoon.
Non military person here, so pretty clueless - please bare with me! I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on the attached picture. It shows my wife's grandad Michael Smith on the right. He was from St. Lucia. We were told he served in Egypt during WW2. Can anyone identify the uniform or cap/badge etc, and any information about the regiment, where he may have gone during his service etc. Any information very gratefully received. Thank you. |

It is the General Service cap badge worn by soldiers without a unit but needing a badge.
