Default Middlesex Regiment Pilot

The cap and collar badges of this officer are clearly those of the Middlesex Regiment and he has RAF wings and what is probably the ribbon of an 1914-15 Star above his pocket.

I have to admit I have not seen this style of uniform -presumably blues - with an open uniform collar and a stiff collar and bow tie worn for his wedding.

Is this a recognised uniform?

Jon

Something unique to the Middlesex or a Battalion of it?
For some reason I'm wondering if there's a RN link.
Three wound stripes.
