Default Does anyone have or seen others like these?

G'day Folk's

I've had 2 of these Officer style badge's for quite a while and have thought they were possibly "Private Purchase", but have come apon a 3rd one (The one with damage to the red backing) which now has me doubting my theory.

The closest match I've been able to find is what I'm pretty sure is Firmin made, as you can see in the photos is very close! Please also note that the tabs on the back are all a little different.

I'm wondering if anyone else has one or seen any the same?
I know Gaunt, J&Co and Stokes made similar but uncertain of this maker or if a rare item?

Regards Dal

PS; This is my 1st post, so if I buggered something up...please let me know!

This may be an answer to the question about when they were used, Dal - for me anyway.

unfortunately the badges Dwaynski shows are different.
Dal, ive got an extensive collection of hat and collar badges and i havent got one of these. you have 3. how can that be??
anyway, i have no idea what they are or when/who made them but heres my thoughts.
english made due to the high quality, probably Gaunt or J&Co but would have thought they would have been marked. pre ww1 probably 1903-12. senior officer.
nice find.
