Default First City (Highland Company)

All, I have recently acquired what I believe to be an officers cap badge to the Highland Company of the First City Volunteers.

The badge has the following hallmarks (Bent & Parker, Birmingham 1905), which fit the period that the company was active (1905-13).

I have included an ORs badge that I have in the collection for ref.

Tx Alex ... couldn't believe my luck when I came across it.

Based on what I have in the collection and what I have seen around it appears that in the period prior to WWI a number of SA officers badges were made in silver. Not sure if anyone has come across anything official in the records that accounts for this?
