Mounting Medals
Does anyone in Alberta, specifically the Lethbridge area, know of a person who mounts medals, swing or court. A young gentleman I know will be receiving the Queen's Jubilee Medal on the 12th Oct and I have purchased a miniature one for him. It comes with the medal and ribbon but they are not mounted. I have sent it to his father to give to him after the official medal ceremony and would like to put him in touch with someone to have the miniature mounted.
Thanks in advance Jack |

Sorry to hijack your thread but I am looking for the same in BC for a friend of mine who wants to have his father’s medals remounted and a shadow box built. I know who does it in Halifax but have no clue who mounts medals out in BC.

I did my own swing mounts for my dad, but here are a couple of places in AB & BC. Haven't used them, so I have no opinion on their work.

Mounting Medals
8 Hussar
Where in B.C. does your friend live and does he have the ribbon and pin? If he is in the Lower Mainland, he would contact a Bob Underhill who is an S/S/M out of the RCMP Vancouver HQ, he mounts medals. If he wants to go that route I can get a phone number for your friend, let me know. Jack |

Medal Mounting in Esquimalt
8Hussar:
Late response but in the dockyard at Esquimalt (Victoria), Ms. Mia Larson runs the military tailor shop and has a wealth of experience with medal mounting (including a couple of VC's). She is also a source of shadow boxes. I have seen several fine examples on display in her shop. Her business is in the Canex building and so is accessible without going through the gate. Business phone is 250 382-1539. Hope that this helps. Don |

Mounting Medals
Don
Thanks for the info, I have sent a miniature Queen's Diamond Jubilee to Lethbridge but it unfortunately was just the medal and the ribbon as purchased. If I had time I would have considered her but the recipient is being presented with the medal on the 12th Oct and did not have time to get it mounted locally before I sent it to Lethbridge, hence the inquiry for someone in the Lethbridge area. Thanks again Jack |
