The Air Operations Branch wore collar badges on the tri-service CF tunic. Collar badgers are not worn on the current RCAF tunic.

Phil, Is the new DEU tunic different from the CAF? And, is there new badges for the "new" RCAF?

YES the Irish Regiment of Canada wear the collars facing OUTWARD. That is to say, the Maid of Erin Harp facing toward the back.

The only Australian units who were collar badges facing out are:
The Pilbara Regiment 1st Aviation Regiment Mick

The CF tunic is the green one worn 1968-85. The blue "Air Element" tunic has been worn since 1985 with no changes. Phil

I believe the Canadians do it the heraldically correct way.

I'm told by MPs that the branch thunderbird collars are worn facing out during wartime.

As the North Stafford's collars are identical it didn't matter but I understood that in REME the left hand collar dog faced the same way as the cap badge. (Inwards)
