Default Dorsetshire Regiment badge made in India

Hello All,
Here is a solid brass hat badge with maker name G KARANJEE & SONS ALIGARH U.P.
I presume it was a replacement badge made while the regiment was based in India.
Can it be dated?
Thanks, John

Actually it is not all brass, but nickel overlay as seen by the studs on the reverse. A very nice Indian "bazaar" made badge. Likely made during the interwar years.

Thanks for your comments CB,
Perhaps I should give the badge a thorough clean?
Cheers, John

To be sure, I cleaned the badge. The overlay is brass.
See attached pictures.

A lovely scarce badge, have not seen another for quite a few years!
I would think worn by some of their 2nd battalion during ww2.
